The ASUS F510UA belongs to the modernized VivoBook line of laptops which have been generally well-received. This laptop is notably lightweight and has compact dimensions of 14.2 x 9.6 x 0.8 inches, weighing only 3.7 pounds. In comparison to the Dell XPS 15, the VivoBook AH55 is thicker and deeper, with a depth of 0.8 inches instead of the XPS’s 0.66 inches. 

The weight of this laptop is a result of the solid construction materials used, such as the enclosed and slim plastic shell that provides a slightly rigid feel. The lid has a premium texture, featuring a lenticular lens that changes its image depending on the viewing angle. The build quality is top-notch, making this laptop durable and long-lasting. 

The spacious keyboard provides a comfortable, near-silent typing experience. The keys have minimal travel but offer a firm feel and a muted click. When typing, the plastic keyboard deck may flex slightly in the middle. However, backlighting is unavailable as it is usually not included in budget models. The touchpad is responsive and glides smoothly, and there’s barely a fingerprint scanner on an affordable laptop. Nevertheless, the Asus Vivobook can be unlocked quickly by scanning your finger. 

The F510UA stands out from the crowd due to its 80% screen-to-body ratio, thanks to ASUS’ NanoEdge bezel technology that features a 0.3-inch bezel. As a result, this laptop has a 14-inch laptop but a 15.6-inch display. The screen is affixed to a single hinge, which is too tight and requires two hands to open.

Display & Audio

The 15.6-inch Full-HD IPS display of the Vivobook is encased in a 14-inch laptop body, and its WideView technology, which is enabled by the IPS technology, offers some of the best viewing angles in its class. 

The Asus VivoBook features a 1,920 x 1,080)display with sharp image quality. Upon closer inspection, it can be noted that specific fine details, such as fonts, are slightly jagged, but it is not a major issue. Most users may not even notice this. 

Asus avoids using a glossy screen coating usually found on touchscreens. Thus giving the laptop a matte finish, eliminating screen glare and reflections. Viewing angles are not as wide as one would expect from a large laptop. The ASUS VivoBook 15 is an excellent choice for podcasting, boasting a 10th-Gen Intel Core i5 processor with a maximum processing speed of 3.4GHz. You don’t have to be concerned when editing long podcasts using multiple applications. 

Furthermore, this laptop offers impressive storage, including a 1TB hard drive and a 128GB solid-state drive. The 8GB RAM is the least amount of memory you can use and is sufficient for most audio-editing applications. You can still store heavy data without worrying about running out of space. This laptop has 128GB of built-in solid-state drive storage, which should minimize latency problems. 

The ASUS F510UA is a budget-oriented laptop that features a VGA front-facing camera. Although it is suitable for making video calls and interviews, it is not suitable for taking high-quality pictures. 

The ASUS VIVOBOOK 15 is an excellent budget photo and video editing laptop. Its 128GB SSD speeds up the rendering process significantly compared to non-SSD versions of the laptop. The cooling system is efficient, with the fan spinning up as needed but not becoming loud.
