The Bowers & Wilkins PX5 is a top-of-the-line pair of wireless on-ear headphones. They feature outstanding construction, a great active noise-canceling system, and extraordinary battery life. Furthermore, they are comfortable to wear and offer a wide range of control options.

Build & Comfort

The Bowers & Wilkins PX5 headphones boast a luxurious design featuring high-grade plastic and cloth, available in blue or dark gray. The exterior features a textured plastic, densely-woven cloth around the ear cups and headband, and leather for added comfort and style.

The construction of the headphones is quite robust, featuring a lightweight yet sturdy carbon fiber frame. The earcups and headband are generously padded with memory foam to provide a snug but comfortable fit.

Regrettably, you may encounter some exhaustion during extended recording sessions due to the ear cups being relatively small and putting pressure on your ears. Moreover, the headband has a limited range of adjustment, which can be bothersome when attempting to alter its fit.

On the right ear cup, you’ll find the controls for music management and playback, such as a switch to power on and enable pairing, an aux cable for wired content, and a USB-C port. A button on the left earcup to manage your noise cancellation can be toggled on and off or set to automatic mode. Additionally, the side panel contains a USB-C port for the charging cable and a 3.5mm jack for the audio cable. The audio cable can be used with ANC on or off, but the headphones must be powered up. Unfortunately, there’s no inline remote control.

Sound & Performance

The PX5’s noise cancellation capabilities work best against low-frequency rumbles such as those heard on transportation and successfully soften mid-range noises. While keyboard clicks and conversations in an office are still audible, their volume is significantly reduced.

These headphones are not designed to pick up on subtle nuances within a mix but do not have any of the usual downsides. There is no harshness, no excess sibilance, and not much noticeable noise.

The app also includes an Auto setting that alters the amount of ambient noise depending on the environment without affecting the sound of the music. Through the app, it is possible to customize how much sound is allowed for any given setting.

The PX5 headphones from Bowers & Wilkins can be paired with your listening device via Bluetooth 5.0, and they offer AptX compatibility for a higher-quality audio experience in certain situations.

The PX5 from Bowers and Wilkins is a great headset because of its impressive battery life. It can last you up to 25 hours of music playback and if you need it in a rush, you can use the fifteen-minute quick-charge option for up to 5 hours of audio.
