BTS, or Bangtan Boys, has captured the hearts of millions through their music, transcending borders and languages. They have become a cultural phenomenon and taken the music industry by storm. “Generation BTS: All the Albums” is a podcast that invites listeners into the mesmerizing world of BTS, exploring their music and the profound messages within their songs.
This review will delve into why this podcast is a must-listen for both die-hard ARMY members and curious newcomers.
What The Generation BTS Podcast Covers
Around a year ago, a podcast was created out of a common love for BTS and their music, Generation BTS: All The Albums. The hosts, who come from different age groups and have been ARMYs for different lengths of time (from one to six years), were fascinated by the captivating tunes and insightful lyrics of BTS. As they discussed the band’s music, it naturally evolved into a podcast endeavor.
Their casual conversations about the band’s music soon transformed into this podcast project. Their goal? To dive deeper into the BTS discography. They discovered a world of artistry and meaning waiting to be explored. This podcast became a platform to share their discoveries and understandings with fellow ARMY members and those curious about the K-pop sensation. Their desire to decode the intricate layers of BTS’s songs, with a special focus on themes like self-love, became the driving force behind their episodes.
In each episode, these hosts aim to create a more profound connection between listeners and BTS’s music. They are just regular people, sharing their passion and insights, hoping to take you along on this journey.
About the Hosts
Meet the ARMYs behind the podcast. First up, there’s Natasha, 20 years of age, who’s been grooving to BTS tunes for a whopping six years. Then there’s Kristine, 30 years old, having been an ARMY for two years. And last but not least, there’s Leanne, 34, the baby ARMY of one year.
These three started the podcast about a year ago because they are passionate about BTS’s music and became interested in the meaning behind their lyrics, especially those related to self-love. They wanted to create something similar to The Ringer’s “All the Albums: Taylor Swift” podcast, but with a focus on K-pop.
Reasons to Tune In to the Podcast
Okay, guys, let me tell you why I love the Generation BTS podcast. First of all, if you’re a die-hard BTS fan like me, this podcast is a must-have on your playlist. These ARMYs take their love for BTS to the next level by dissecting their music like it’s the most important thing in the world. And let me tell you, it’s like a therapy session for your soul.
But even if you’re new to the BTS or K-pop scene, this podcast is still for you. We get it, diving into this world can feel like wandering through a dense forest without a compass. The hosts are your K-pop spirit guides, making everything clear and relatable. They break down the lyrics and themes in a way that even K-pop newbies can understand. No more scratching your head in confusion when you hear “Dope” or “Mic Drop.” They unravel the hidden meanings behind the songs and explain why they resonate with millions of fans worldwide.
I also love that the hosts are from different age groups and have varying levels of ARMY experience. You see, each age group has its own set of experiences and cultural references that shape how we perceive things. So when you have hosts from various age ranges discussing BTS, you get a delightful mix of insights.
And can we talk about the intro song choice for a minute? “Save Me” is one of my all-time faves. I can totally picture Jungkook doing his best Jimin impression and it cracks me up every time.
So, if you’re looking for a podcast that’s both informative and entertaining in the world of BTS, Generation BTS is the way to go. It’s a BTS music therapy session with your best buds.
What Could Use Improvement
I gotta say, this podcast is seriously amazing. It’s got me hooked with all the BTS talk and insights. But there’s just one little thing that bugs me. They talk about BTS albums, songs and stuff, which is great for us ARMYs who already know their music inside out. But what about those non-ARMYs or new fans who want to learn more? It’d be super cool if they included a clip or maybe even just a couple of lines from the song they’re reviewing.
Just a snippet could really give us a feel for what makes BTS so special and leave us craving for more!
